   cONSIDER THE OUTCOME IF YOUR INSTRUCTORS AND PROFESSORS FROM UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA OR THE WHARTON BUSINESS SCHOOL HAD THEIR SALARY BASED ON THE NUMBER OF GRADUATES OR THE NUMBER OF DROPOUTS. YOU MAY SAY YOURE AWARE OF THE ‘SOCIAL ISSUIES” SURROUNDING YOUR SUPPORT OF SB 6, BUT IN ACTUALITY, UNLESS YOU ARE IN THE TRANCHES DAILY, AND HAVE TO TRY TO GET THROUGH TO KIDS WHO ARE SICK,TIRED,HUINGRY, ANGRY, DEPRESSED, SUICIDAL, APATHETIC, AND SAD, THEN YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT OUR TASK IS. WE SPENT A LLOT OF TIME STUDYING AND GETTING AS FAR AS WE HAVE, AND TO SAY THAT OUR SALARY SH0ULD BE BASED ON THE SUCCESS OF THIS TYPE OF CHILD IS A SLAP IN OUR FACES. HOW DO YOU PROPOSE TO GIVE MERIT PAY TO THE ELECTIVE TEACHERS- ART, PE, MUSIC, THEATER, ETC, WHEN THE SUCCESS OF THOSE STUDENTS IS NOT EVEN MEASURED WITH THE SAME STANDARDS AS IN THEIR ACADEMIC CLASSES. hOW CAN YOU EVEN BEGIN TO EQUITABLY DECIDE WHO GETS WHAT? PENALIZE THE PARENTS’ SALARY IF THEIR CHILD IS TRUANT, ARRESTED, AJUDICATED, WITHDRAWN FROM SCHOOL OR HAS DROPPED OUT. SOME THINGS WE HAVE NO CONTROL OF. RESPONSIBILITY DOES NOT END AT CONCEPTION

   Dear Sir,

   I am writing again to ask you to oppose the proposed removal of the insurance subsidy from Florida retiree pension plans. A large segment of those retirees are teachers whose retirement pensions are not overly large. Florida teachers do not retire with huge pensions, unlike states like Illinois, California and Massachusetts where the retirement pension can be as much as $100,00 a year. A cut of $1800 a month in today’s world is a lot of money to many retirees. Retirees are also being hit by the federal government with its proposed cuts in medicare and the elimination of the COLA.. Social Security benefits have already been reduced. It would appear that the seniors are becoming favorite targets. Please try to find some other source of funds.
